Christmas Movies I’m Looking Forward to this Year

Noelle

Noelle stars the goddess, that is, Anna Kendrick as Santa’s little sister, who has to find her brother after he goes AWOL. It’s a classic Christmas feel good comedy, along the lines of Santa Clause and Home Alone, that I can’t wait to watch.

It’s on Disney+ from 27th November

Christmas Chronicles 1 & 2

Kurt Russell as Santa Claus and Goldie Hawn as Mrs. Claus, can you think of a more perfect pair to play Mr and Mrs Claus. (Although Goldie Hawn was only in a cameo appearance for the first movie) Like Noelle, it’s a classic Christmas comedy that gets you right into the Holiday spirit.

I loved the first one and can’t wait to watch the second, I might try to convince the hubby to watch them back to back with me.

Christmas Chronicles 1 is already out on Netflix and the Sequel is out on the 25th November.

Beauty and the Beast: Enchanted Christmas.

I got really excited when I saw this Disney+, I had this on VHS when I was a kid. I used to watch this all the time and I can’t wait to share a piece of my childhood with Frey and Sigi.

It’s set while Belle is at the castle and tries to convince the Beast to celebrate Christmas. It’s a just a classic Disney Christmas movie that I absolutely adore.

Family Christmas movie time

Klaus

We watched this last year, and I loved it. It’s on Netflix, and is a lovely reimagining of the origins of St. Nicholas. It’s got great animation and is one of those wonderful films that’s got jokes for both kids and their adults.

Already out on Netflix

Rise of the Guardians

Father Christmas is a badass, the Easter Bunny is Australian, there’s Jack Frost and an epic snowball fight. What’s not too love about this film.

It’s on Netflix.

Frozen 1 & 2

I’m going to make a confession, my kids have never seen the Frozen movies. I know, I know, I’m a terrible mother, but I plan on rectifying this soon. We’re gonna have an afternoon (probably when the weather is really bad) cuddled up the sofa, with snacks and we’ll watch them back to back.

Both are already streaming on Disney+

The Nutcracker and The Four Realms

Ever had a film that you’ve really wanted to watch, but it was wrong time of it year? (Or is that just me?) I’ve wanted to watch this for ages, but I kept putting it off until it was closer to Christmas. Now we’re in November, it’s on my list to watch soon.

It’s a retelling of the Nutcracker story, similar to what Disney did with Alice in Wonderland. It’s also stars Morgan Freeman, which automatically makes it awesome.

Already out on Disney+
